The committee heard about the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) and how the Commission’s oversight affects those in the Basin versus the rest of the Commonwealth; the DRBC’s ban on natural gas drilling and the economic impact this has had on those living in the Basin; and the need to ensure the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) maintains authority over certain regulated activity – such as on-lot septic systems.
